Southern Towing Company owns and operates the nation’s largest fleet of Anhydrous Ammonia liquefied gas barges in the nation. For over 60 years, our expertise in agriculture chemicals has allowed Southern Towing Company to become one of the leading inland marine tank barge operators throughout the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and the Mississippi River System including its tributaries, the Ohio and Illinois Rivers. Our fleet of tank barges allows us to specialize in various bulk liquid cargoes, such as UAN (Urea Ammonium Nitrate). In addition to our fertilizer expertise, we provide towing services for several other commodities including refined petroleum, coal, grain, and aggregates.
